Data Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Data Engineer (Fresher) to join our data team. In this role, you will support the design and maintenance of data pipelines that transform raw campaign and advertising data into reliable, analytics-ready datasets. Working closely with experienced engineers, you will gain hands-on exposure to data modeling, ETL/ELT workflows, and data-quality practices, supported by structured mentorship and code reviews. This role is well suited to a candidate with strong SQL and Python fundamentals who is looking to build a solid foundation in modern data engineering, and you will have the support of the Data team as you find your footing.

Responsibilities

• Strong understanding of SQL, relational database concepts, and data modeling fundamentals.
• Solid knowledge of Python for data work, including:
• Variables, data types, and control flow
• Functions and modular code
• Working with lists, dictionaries, and sets
• File handling and reading/writing common formats (CSV, JSON, Parquet)
• Libraries like pandas and NumPy for data manipulation
• Basic error handling and logging
• Good understanding of how data flows through systems (sources, storage, processing, consumption).
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and building simple data pipelines.
• Understanding of data warehousing basics (fact/dimension tables, normalization vs. denormalization).
• Basic knowledge of version control using Git.
• Ability to debug data issues and validate data quality.
• Exposure to at least one database or data tool (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.) through academic projects, internships, or personal work.
• Understanding of batch vs. streaming data processing at a conceptual level.
